Community rules

Effective October 6, 2026 · Spēk is made by ArtemisWorx LLC, New Hampshire, USA

The short version. Spēk exists so people who do not share a language can talk to each other. Be the person you would want to meet. Use your own voice, be kind, and do not use Spēk to deceive, harass or harm anyone.

By using Spēk you agree to these rules.

Your voice, and only yours

  • Record and clone your own voice only. Never record another person's voice as yours, and never use a recording of someone else.
  • Everyone who records a voice in Spēk gives their own consent, on their own, on the recording screen. That includes family and friends who record at your table on your phone.
  • You must be 18 or older to record and clone your voice.
  • Do not use Spēk to pretend to be someone else, or to make it sound as if a real person said something they did not say.

How to treat people

  • No harassment, threats or hate. No abuse aimed at someone's race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age or disability.
  • No sexual content or advances toward people who did not ask for them, and nothing sexual involving anyone under 18, ever.
  • No scams or spam. Do not ask strangers for money, gifts, passwords or codes. Do not advertise, recruit or send the same message to many people.
  • Nothing illegal. Do not use Spēk to plan, promote or carry out anything against the law.
  • Respect privacy. Do not share another person's private information, and do not record or publish a conversation without the other person knowing.

Your profile and friend requests

  • Your name, photo and the note on a friend request are seen by other people. Keep them honest and decent: a name you actually go by, a photo you have the right to use, nothing obscene or hateful.
  • If "Discoverable" is on, other Spēk users can find you by language, place and name and ask to be friends. Turn it off in Profile at any time.
  • A friend request is an invitation, not a demand. If someone does not answer, leave it there.

Children

Spēk is not for children under 13. If you believe a child is using Spēk, or that someone is using Spēk to contact a child inappropriately, tell us at once at hello@spek2me.com.

Spēk Romance

  • Romance is opt in and for adults only. You confirm your birth year when you opt in, and anyone under 18 is refused.
  • Every heart on the Romance map is voice-verified: the person read random words aloud, live, before they could appear. Companions from the Spēk team are always labelled AI.
  • Your Romance profile is separate from your friends. You can hide it from your friends, pause it, or leave Romance at any time, and nobody is told.
  • Asking for money, pretending to be someone else, unwanted sexual content, or anyone who seems to be under 18 can be reported from the ⋯ menu with one tap. Reports of this kind are reviewed first.

Child safety standards

Spēk prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) in every form: any sexual content involving a minor, any attempt to contact, groom or solicit a minor, and any sharing of such material. This applies to voices, photos, notes, messages and profiles, in every language Spēk speaks.

  • Report it in the app: tap ⋯ beside the person, then Report, and choose Seems to be under 18 or Sexual content I didn't ask for. Reports of this kind are reviewed first, within 24 hours.
  • Report it to us directly: hello@spek2me.com reaches a person on the Spēk team who is responsible for these reports.
  • What we do: the account is removed, the cloned voice is deleted, and the matter is reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) or the relevant authority in the person's country, as the law requires. We keep what the authorities need and nothing else.
  • We comply with child safety laws wherever Spēk is available, and we review these standards whenever the app changes.

Report and block

  • Tap ⋯ beside any person, on a friend request, in your friends list or in Find friends, then Report or Block.
  • Block works at once. They can no longer find you, ask to be friends or talk with you, and they are not told. Your conversation with them is deleted for both of you.
  • Report blocks the person and sends the report to us. We review every report within 24 hours.
  • You can also write to hello@spek2me.com.
  • If you or someone else is in danger, contact your local emergency services first.

What we do about it

When someone breaks these rules we may remove a name, photo or note, hide a profile from the directory and the map, remove a cloned voice, or suspend or delete the account. For serious harm, such as threats or anything involving a child, we remove the account and may report it to the authorities. We decide case by case, and we would rather be careful than fast.

If you think we got it wrong, write to hello@spek2me.com and a person will look again.

Changes

If these rules change in a way that matters, we will say so in the app or by email. The date at the top shows the current version.
