Delete your Spēk account

Spēk is made by ArtemisWorx LLC, New Hampshire, USA

The short version. You can delete your Spēk account and your voice yourself, in the app, in about ten seconds. If you cannot open the app, write to us and we will do it for you.

Delete it yourself, in the app

Open Spēk (the app, or app.spek2me.com in a browser where you are signed in).
Open the menu and tap Profile.
Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete my account, then Delete everything.

It happens at once and cannot be undone.

Ask us to delete it

If you no longer have the app or cannot sign in, write to hello@spek2me.com from the email address on your Spēk account, with the subject "Delete my Spēk account". If your account has no email address, tell us the name on it and your Spēk code if you have it. We may ask a question to make sure the account is yours. We delete it within 30 days and write back when it is done.

What is deleted

Your voice recording and the voice model made from it, including the copy held by our voice cloning partner.
Your profile: name, photo, language, city, state, country and precise location if you shared it.
Your email address, your sign-in code and your notification settings.
Your friends list and friend requests. You disappear from your friends' lists, from the directory and from the map.
The stored text of your conversations from the last 30 days.

What is kept, and for how long

Daily usage totals (how many turns, how many seconds, what it cost us) are kept for our records. They contain no words and no voice, and after deletion they point to an account that no longer exists.
Two-phone conversations: messages you sent to a friend stay in that conversation until 7 days after it was last used, then they are removed with it.
Payment records, if you bought something on our website, are kept as required for tax and accounting.
Phrases and audio clips saved on your own phone stay on your phone until you remove the app or clear its data.

Delete only your voice

You can remove your voice and keep your account: in the app, open Voices and tap Forget voice. The voice model is deleted from our partner and from your phone. By email, ask us to "delete my voice" instead.
